Experience

  • Food For Families -Grocery Aid, 2019: I assisted families getting their groceries and engaged with them to help them feel welcomed and to enjoy their experience. I passed their food to them and interacted and assisted the elderly who were incapable of getting their own groceries. I communicated with families to figure out what their grocery needs were.
  • Centennial School District- Elementary Volunteer and Student Teacher, 2020: I aided teachers and parents in babysitting younger children while they were having parent-teacher meetings. I designed activities for young children to do to keep them occupied. Communicated with young children to help them develop their creative skills .Worked alongside other students to help teach children their fine motor skills and develop their social skills, and designed activities for pre-school students. I was student teacher and was able to control large groups of children at a time and able to solve disputes between young children under pressure.
  • Youth Environmental Leadership Program- Volunteer, 2020: I researched how public water systems work across different countries and cities. I worked with other young students to develop a new idea to preserve rainwater and make the system more effective and budget and environmentally friendly. I led a group of students to work on multiple projects. Through the project, I did extensive research on how to budget for improving Portland's water system and spoke with city officials on how to improve different cities water system. I was flexible to change my volunteer experience to online due to COVID Went to workshops to learn more about the water systems of cities and how they work
  • Small Business - 2020: In 2020 during the pandemic, I started a small jewelry business on Etsy. I researched and sourced all the materials and supplies myself with my own funding. I designed and created the pieces by hand. I was responsible for all the marketing, packaging, customer support as well as communicating with suppliers.
