Working with nurse preceptors on my floor, where I gain nursing experience under direct supervision. I have gained skills and experience in:

• Giving and receiving nursing report
• Conversing with doctors, social workers, pharmacists and therapists in relation to patient outcome and care.
• CPRS charting
• Assessing and reassessing patients
• Medication administration
• Wound care
• Discharging and admitting patients onto the unit
• Blood product administration
• IV insertion
• Lab draws

When I am not with a nurse preceptor, I work as a staffed certified nursing assistant on my floor. Things I do in this position include:

• Taking vital signs
• Taking blood sugars
• Collecting urine, stool, and nasal samples
• Daily cares including bathing, dressing, teeth brushing and feeding
• Transporting patients to other units, procedures, and tests
• Helping the nurse in discharging and admitting patients

• Performing opening and closing duties, preparing cash drawer, counting cash sales
• Following state laws regarding alcoholic beverage services and customer regulations
• Organizing bar inventory

• Hosting city-wide events and private parties t

• Cared for residents in a skilled nursing rehabilitation living facility and delivered high-quality support to meet patient needs.
• Answered call lights, took vital signs, help residents with daily cares
• Helped residents in the rehabilitation process by going on walks with them
• Participated in group activities with residents such as music events, animal petting farm, bingo, puzzles, crafts and holiday decorating
