Emily Riley

I am a current Bachelor of Science in Nursing student at the University of Detroit Mercy with hands on clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing. During my clinical experience, I assisted with patient care including vital sign monitoring, intake and output tracking, patient assessments, charting, personal hygiene, and supporting safe medication administration under RN supervision. These experiences have strengthened my clinical judgement, documentation skills, and the ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.

Alongside my nursing education, I bring several years of experience working at Dave & Busters in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. In this role, I worked across multiple positions including team leader, server, and bartender. I trained and mentored new staff, managed competing priorities during short-staffed shifts, calculated blood alcohol content to ensure guest safety, and maintained regular compliance with alcohol service regulations. This experience sharpened my communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills while teaching me how to remain calm and effective under pressure.

Together, my healthcare training and customer service leadership background have prepared me to thrive as a Nurse Extern in the ICU, where adaptability, teamwork, and string clinical skills are essential.
