Emily Vaught

At the age of 17, I started my first ever job as a Lifeguard at Silver Lake. I trained to become a lifeguard and got my certifications after taking a two week, training intensive course. Later that year, when the lifeguarding season was over, I decided to get another job at Dunkin' Donuts. I became a Shift Leader about a year later and took a ten hour course to get my certifications. In 2021, I applied to work through the Rover app by taking care of animals. I now house sit and am an animal caretaker when requested, and work at Dunkin' Donuts part time.

• I graduated High School with a 3.8 GPA.
• I am currently attending Kent State University and was a part of the honors college during my freshman year.
• During High School, I became the Vice President of our choir program. I helped coordinate events, organize schedules, help underclassmen learn, and make decisions with the President and other leaders of the program.
• I have been in many musicals since the age of 12. Some of these include Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, The Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins, etc.
• I have sang at the Stow City Hall during a Veteran’s Day celebration.
• I was the Makeup Director for the musicals at Kimpton Middle School for two years.
• I have 15 volunteer hours at Summa Health System in Akron.
• I have Volunteered at Paws and Prayers Pet Rescue in Cuyahoga Falls

• American Red Cross Lifeguarding (valid for two years)
• American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (valid for two years)
• American red Cross Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen Administration (valid for two years)

• There are many hobbies that I indulge in during my free time. Some of those include drawing, singing, writing poems, playing the ukulele, and making custom shoes that people request.

• Although I am satisfied with my current job, I am looking to find more job experience. Because I am attending Kent State with Pre-Medicine as my major, I am hoping to find a job that better fits the concentration of my major.
