Hello, my name is Emmanuel, and I am currently a senior student at the University of Florida, studying Biochemistry with a pre-dental track. I have a serious interest in dentistry and love every aspect of it; hence, I decided to become a dental assistant. Growing up in a family-owned Mexican store and restaurant chain in Southwest Florida taught me all about business, customer satisfaction, teamwork, and customer service skills. Most importantly, it opened my eyes to my true passion, which is helping people. After my everlasting and impactful orthodontic treatment, I gained an interest in dentistry, and knew I wanted to help people in this impactful way. Therefore, I decided to travel to London for a two-week dentistry internship opportunity at InvestIN Education. There, I learned about dental instruments, the daily life of a dentist, different specialties in dentistry, and the educational journey to becoming a dentist. Thereafter, I decided to expand my knowledge in dentistry by attending a dental assisting school in St. Petersburg, Florida, where I learned how to set up and assist in various amounts of general dentistry procedures. I also gained knowledge in the sterilization of instruments, proper room clean-ups, full mouth series, and panoramic X-rays. I am now an active and passionate student who is also active in student organizations, such as the UF Pre-Dental Society, as a service delegate, and in external service on the weekends. I have also participated in other dental-related community work, such as the FL Mission of Mercy, where I assisted by taking X-rays for patients and assisting chairside for the restorative dentistry section. I am now actively seeking a job in dental assisting before I apply to dental school, to gain more experience and knowledge in dentistry. I am looking foward to working you so please contact me with any questions or any needed information.
