This resulted in the de-escalation of ongoing conflicts and also the reconciliation of conflicting members of the communities.


  • Organized programs to encourage and promote awareness about the healing powers of reconciliation and forgiveness and their importance for a harmonious and peaceful society through counseling and rehabilitation of victims and storytelling activities and programs for victims, their families, and friends. This resulted in the rehabilitation of over 200 victims across various communities.


  • Organized educative programs for over 100 offenders in prison to embrace repentance and remorse and to move beyond grievances and start a new journey in life. This resulted in preventing recidivism among the offenders.

Accomplishments

1)Reconciliation and Healing: A Different Approach to Building Peace, Hope, and Trust in the Nation:


Organized a community outreach for 50 bomb blast victims in Abuja, Nigeria, with the aim of encouraging healing, forgiveness, reconciliation, and peace in the community.

The victims and their loved ones were given the opportunity to recount their stories, which enabled them to unburden and make room for healing and forgiveness.



2) Encouraging Reconciliation and Healing for the Promotion of Peace in the Country through Love and Care:


Organized a Fun Fair on Children's Day for 200 kids at the Internally Displaced People (IDP) camp in Abuja, Nigeria.

Through this project, my teammates and I were able to feed 200 internally displaced children. They were also gifted toys and clothing, and they participated in different games and activities that made them happy.



3) A Day of Service with Vanessa and Ene:


We organized an outreach for an orphanage home in Abuja, Nigeria, consisting of 150 children. My teammates and I mobilized 20 volunteers to provide services like hair braiding, haircuts, cleaning, and washing. We also donated hygiene essentials to the children in the orphanage. The purpose of this project was to spend some quality time at the orphanage to show the children that they're not alone and that the community cares about them.



4) Reconciliation, Healing, and Trauma Recovery for Internally Displaced Women and Children at the Kuchigoro IDP Camp, Abuja, Nigeria:


This project aimed to promote and encourage peacebuilding among the victims and survivors of Boko Haram terrorism who have been left in vulnerable conditions. The beneficiaries of this project underwent group therapy sessions to encourage their healing and recovery processes, and they were provided with food, hygiene kits, and medications to help manage their living conditions in the camp.
