NYCHA Morris Houses - $65 million: Boiler, Heating & Hot Water Replacement

Contract Scope: Demolish existing Boiler Plant and hot water heater systems and replace them with state of the art efficient heating & hot water systems for nineteen, twenty story buildings. Structural elements included shoring and demolition of existing boiler plant roof to rig in (6) new boilers, opening for exhaust flues and fresh air intakes for (78) hot water heaters. Scope included all associated plumbing & mechanical piping, electrical wiring and lighting, BMS interface, CHAS system, liquid applied roofing, architectural and structural building improvements.

Tasks:

• Preparation and distribution of all project controls including submittals, RFIs, change orders, requisitions, daily reports.
• Produce concise schedules for client and subcontractor utilization
• Ensure subcontractors have sufficient manpower and supervision to meet the project schedule.
• Conduct client and subcontractor meetings
• Maintained payroll data, attendance records
• Oversaw project budgets and buyouts
• Maintain site safety program & documentation
• Punchlist sign offs
• Coordinated substantial completion & close out with subcontractors, utilities, AOR/EOR, DOB, DEP, DEC.

• Assisted in the design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for pharmaceutical companies
• Carried out calculations for cooling and heating loads, room pressurization and leakage
• Preparation of drawings (HVAC zoning, air handling unit layouts, valve layouts, ductwork, pipework) using AutoCAD and Bluebeam
• Exposure to high standards of safety and care in office and on site.
