I have been a nurse for over 12 years and in those years I have learned a lot. I have worked at a skilled/long term facility as a Charge nurse. It was here I learned the love for Nursing. I worked along with some great nurses who helped me to become the nurse I am today. Next I worked with a traveling nail care team. We went to facilities all over to do nail care for not only diabetics but for patients who would not allow facility nurse to preform such tasks. It was then then I learned a lot about patients with dementia as that was the most common patients we saw. Afer that I worked at an assisted living for 5 years. There I moved into a managment positiong. There I assisted in managing caregivers and medtechs. In my roll I was in charge of monthly careplan meetings with residents and their family members. Wrapping all that up I am currently in Home Health. Here I have learned to become independent in my daily work as well as my confidence in my wound skills.
Home visits with patients who need wound care, teaching for new dx as well as hospital discharge follow up care.
