My role as a tire technician at Rent-A-Wheel is to change out customer wheels and/or tires, and sometimes repair the tire when necessary. Another task I've been given as a tire technician is to drive the work truck to pick up products from manufacturer warehouses or other store locations, as well as to restock and reorganize tire and wheel inventory on the racks inside the showroom floor and garage bay. I have also been required to send out marketing messages to customers (texts and emails) to gain more business. Field runs to repossess customers' products or request payment after they avoid their mandatory payments is another task that was assigned to me while working at Rent-A-Wheel.
As a warehouse replenisher, we were required to refill or replenish all products that were running low in order for the customer orders to be sent out on time. Other times, I was assigned to separate and organize the pallets, so I could stack them with the orders as they quickly came down the conveyor belt. As a pallet replenisher, I was required to keep the warehouse floor stocked with pallets of product. In order to do so, I would use a manual pallet jack to relocate the pallets.
As an order packer, I was required to verify that orders were correct by scanning the barcodes and matching up products inside. I would then print out shipping labels and send the completed order down the belt.
As a tire technician, I serviced customer vehicles by replacing, rotating, balancing, and sometimes repairing the tires. The service coordinator role I was moved up to required me to interact with customers more, and take charge in leading the team. I would give customers updates while their vehicle is being worked on to let them know if there are any issues or not. At the end of their visit, I would give them a full rundown of what we did to the vehicle, as well as ask if they have any questions they would like me to answer. It was also my job to make sure all of the other technicians were completing all of their assigned tasks on time, and efficiently. The main goal was to make sure we satisfied all of our customers.
