  • Also, as the Risk Manager I hold the responsibility for coordinating the loss control efforts and advising management and administration on all potential sources of loss and for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure.
  • The structure and functions as Risk Management Director have been designed for me to comply with guidelines and standards of TJC, CMS, other regulatory agencies, and the Universal Health Services TERM Program.
  • Ensures appropriate and timely reporting of occurrences by maintaining a Healthcare Peer Review Reporting.
  • As the Performance Improvement Director, the hospital data is collected from all departments monthly and is submitted in as Quality Assurance Data and is also collected and submitted upstream to the Assistant Vice President of Performance Improvement.
  • As the risk manager the data is collected for the hospital’s CEO’s Quarterly Board of Governors Minutes, Monthly Operations Report ,and Medical Executive Committee.
  • (Occurrence notification system); enters incidents into the MIDAS Database.
  • As well as Oversees and implements Policy and Procedures manuals to reflect current and updated accredited and regulatory standards.
  • Collects and screens all reports.
  • Analyzes and trends data for completeness of Facility Dashboard, Performance Indicators, Quality of Care Dashboard, and Mental Health Outcomes.
  • Refers occurrences for follow-up to appropriate department or medical committee; ensures that all Level III/IV are referred to the Peer Review Committee.
  • Receives immediate and concurrent reporting of adverse patient outcomes identified by the PI processes.
  • Performs risk surveys and inspects patient care areas in concert with hospital's safety (EOC) program committee objectives.
  • Conduct daily and weekly camera audits, daily walk through(s), and in-person audits for patient safety and provide a leadership presence throughout the facility.
  • Drives patient satisfaction survey score results.
  • Investigates and follows state requirements for reporting of abuse, elopements, etc.
  • Conducts and initiates Root Cause Analysis, Probable Claims reports.
  • Assist in development of corrective action plans to correct and clear identified deficiencies cited in DRM, CMS, MSDH, DOM, MFCU and JCAHO surveys as well as entrance and exit interviews.
  • On boards all employees, contract employees, and physicians upon new-hire and conducts monthly in-services.
  • Knowledgeable of Patient Rights and Psychiatric Mental Health Standards of Care and treats all patients with dignity and respect in a consistent and caring manner.
  • On call 24/7 with a developed understanding of the need for the maintaining of appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patient’s families, visitors, employees and all other contacts.
