I was a part of a YMCA program called Youth & Government. In this program we discussed current events in our government and the issues being broadcasted on the news. During our trips to Camp Roberts and Sacramento, I had the media role in my delegation. I created informative videos for the other teens in the program and wrote a newspaper article, keeping the other delegates in the loop with what was going on during these trips while also matching the humor and style/trends that the other teens in the program enjoyed. This experience not only taught me the importance of being involved and educating myself on certain topics, but it also taught me how media really works and how to grab the attention of others while also having fun.
