• Current position requires screening of all babies and their families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to assess whether the family has all basic needs in place
• If the family does not, resources are provided to the families to try and ameliorate their living situation
• Additionally, each child must be considered for qualification for services based on their medical needs and their family’s financial means
• Frequently must communicate with parents’ employers to allow parents with medical leave to visit and learn the care of their baby

• Held several positions at this organization, Clinical Coordinator, Intern Coordinator, Forensic Interviewer, and Therapist
• While in these positions, constant communication with families, schools, Department of Social Services, Law Enforcement, the Solicitor’s Office, and defense attorneys was an integral aspect of the work performed
• Court appearances were a normal part of these positions
• While Intern Coordinator, it was required to coordinate with the universities to learn what was required for the students so that they were provided with meaningful learning opportunities
• Advocated for the students to be sure they were not given tasks that were outside of what they could realistically be expected to perform.

• Worked for the State of Missouri for the Children’s Division for nearly 10 years, moving to different circuits for positions of increasing responsibility
• Working with the Family Courts and Juvenile Offices were important for all of these positions
• Buchanan and Andrew Counties/5th Judicial Circuit, Was responsible for up to 10 employees in a unit that received approximately 200 reports of child abuse/neglect per month
• Was responsible for reading every file and communicating what corrects or improvements needed to be made
• Was also responsible for any discipline or improvement plans for under performing employees.
• Collaborated with community program leaders and advocates to make resources accessible to those in need.

• Was responsible for carrying a large caseload consisting of children already in foster care, working with those families toward the goal of returning the children, and working with families at risk of losing custody of their children
• Was one of only two workers in that county
• Referred clients to appropriate community agencies and organizations to meet treatment needs.
• Coordinated individual referrals to obtain community services, advocated for client needs and resolved roadblocks.

Competed for and was chosen to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia to obtain a Master's Degree in Social Work. Did work in county offices during winter and summer breaks. The cost of school, salary, and benefits were paid for by the Children's Division.

• While working in the Chariton County Office was the sole Children’s Division worker and handled what would have been considered 2.5 caseloads.

• Taught Learning Disabled Students, many of whom had ADHD, with finding ways to improve their comprehension and grades via different types of study techniques and mnemonic devices.
• Created and managed IEPs to define student learning objectives and educational strategies, in addition to applying instructional knowledge and methods to support goals.
• Taught students across multiple classifications and degrees of special needs.
• Partnered with standard education teachers from across academic departments.

• School Year- During this school year followed one particular child with extreme behavioral issues for the first half of the day
• Assisted special education students with their work in the special education classroom for the second half of the day.
• Delivered personalized educational, behavioral and emotional support to individual students to enable positive learning outcomes.
