Assisted in developing and implementing the Law Enforcement Victim Advocate program. This was the first program dedicated specifically to addressing the unique needs of public service victims implemented in a major prosecutorial agency in the country.

  • Advocating on behalf of crime victims by educating victims of their constitutional rights and the criminal justice system. Provide hearing and disposition notification. Escorting victims to court and interviews and acting as a liaison to facilitate communication to the prosecutor. Providing crisis intervention services, case management, and direct services to victims.
  • Maintained a specialized caseload of 180-200 open felony trial cases. Extensive experience with complex, high profile capital trials.
  • Coordinated emotionally charged, complex court hearings, trials, sentencing and clemency board hearings to ensure that the victim and the community’s voice was heard.
  • Train and lecture extensively throughout Arizona to prosecutors, detectives, patrol officers, victim advocacy groups, schools, and law enforcement stakeholder conferences on the unique challenges of preparing and handling a case with law enforcement victims. Prepare training and educational material and videos on the criminal justice system and victim experiences.
  • Supervised and mentored victim advocate interns 2009 -2014.
