Provides crisis intervention, counseling, casework, support and advocacy for victims of crime or personal crisis.
• Dedicated Patrol Victim Assistance Crisis Intervention advocate assisting victims and patrol officers on swing shift.
• Deliver on-scene crisis intervention and counseling to crime victims and their families
• Confer with law enforcement officials on the status of cases; coordinate interviews between investigating officers and victims; provide support to victims and their families during interviews with law enforcement, attorneys, and other court personnel.
• Educate victims of their Victims’ Rights and the Criminal Justice System while ensuring compliance with Glendale Police Department policies and procedures.
• Identify and provide victims with resources and referrals to various social services. Assist victims with completing and processing forms, including the state Victim Assistance Compensation Fund
• Provide case management, advocacy and outreach services to victims
• Ensure compliance with Arizona Victims’ Bill of Rights
Assisted in developing and implementing the Law Enforcement Victim Advocate program. This was the first program dedicated specifically to addressing the unique needs of public service victims implemented in a major prosecutorial agency in the country.
