• As a tank farm operator I would control pumps, semi-processed, and finish petroleum products, water, renewable fuels unit feed as of tallow and chemical solutions through processing, storage, and shipping departments within and outside of the of the refinery.
• Start and stop pumps, I would observe pressure and flow meters and turn valves to regulate pumping speeds according to requirements. Also open and close pipeline and tank valves to direct flow of product to destinations.
• Issue work permits for safe work, hot work and confined spaces as needed.
• Climb and gauge contents of tanks, using tape gauge. Draw samples of product by lowering thief with bottle into tank or by opening bleeder valves on pipelines to draw sample.
• Direct trucks and transport drivers to proper loading stations and assure that they load properly and safely. Open valves to direct products to loading stations.
• Record operating data, such as products and quantities pumped, stocks used, gauging results, and operating time on forms or log in books.
• Read orders and blending schedules to determine specified components and quantities to be blended. Calculate the amount of components or additives to blend the proper amounts of products. Operate control panel, utilize electronic computers and controls to blend product or open valves and circulate specified quantities of products, additives, chemicals petroleum components in mixing tank.
• Also a member of EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM.
