I am writing you this letter to apply for the graduate nurse residency program at Houston Methodist. While I was on the website, I also saw that Houston Methodist is the number one hospital in Texas for patient safety and care. As a caring, meticulous, and energetic new graduate, I would be honored to be an addition to the Houston Methodist organization. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree on the 17th of December, 2021.

• I am very passionate about giving my patient the best care possible. As a future registered nurse, I have to make sure my patients are safe, advocated for, and given a therapeutic environment to heal. Through clinical rotations in diverse health settings, I obtained skills and qualities that would make me an asset to your organization. Some skills and qualifications I possess include, that I am caring, detail-oriented, an educator, empathetic, inquisitive, active listener, therapeutic communicator, and a team player. I believe that with these qualities I will be able to provide safe and effective patient care. An instance when I utilized these qualities was during my OB/PD clinical rotation. I assisted in the setup and preparation for a vaginal delivery. I provided comfort measures, position changes, taught deep breathing exercises and encouraging words to laboring mothers.
• Ultimately, I am confident that my training, dedication, and hands-on experience with patient care make me an ideal fit for the Labor and Delivery nursing position at Houston Methodist Hospital.
