• Took an active role in a research project under guidance of Biology faculty members working with graduate and other undergraduate students. The research in this lab is based on plant genetics. By studying and mapping the genes of plants that have different morphological properties, our focus is finding those differences in genotypes using quantitative loci traits. In lab, undergrads are responsible for collecting, labeling and storing lab samples according to laboratory specifications. Preparing polymerase chain reaction tests (PCRs) and running the gel electrophoresis to gain data regarding the plant genes. Inputting data into worksheets and RStudio. This information will lead to a greater understanding of vegetation genetics and give contributions in agriculture.

As a veterinarian assistant at Banfield Pet Hospital, I am responsible for a variety of duties. Duties consist of addressing healthcare needs of animals by coordinating with veterinarians. Operating radiographic, dental, microscopic, and ultrasound equipment. Administering vaccines to animals, communicating with pet parents, working diagnostic lab work, obtaining blood samples and reading lab results. My role also includes documenting patient information with precision to maintain records accuracy. Recently, I have been training new veterinary staff on office procedures and requirements.

• As a CNA, I assisted patients with daily living activities to promote healthy habits and overall wellness. Fostered relationships with patients, caregivers and healthcare teams to achieve individual care plan targets. I observed for physical, emotional, and symptomatic changes in patient condition and obtained necessary care for medical concerns. Rendered hands-on nursing care under direct RN supervision, adhering to medical center policies and procedures.

While at PetSmart, I promoted high customer satisfaction by resolving problems with knowledgeable and friendly service. Remained calm and professional in stressful circumstances and effectively diffused tense situations. Mentored new employees on procedures and policies to maximize team performance.
