Safety representative for refinery work including initial confined space entry, Formal JSA’s. I initiate, educate and encourage all workers in the refinery to perform behavioral based safety observations. Collect safety data to improve the overall safety of the refinery. Participate in HRIT and other VPP activities. Teach B1 contractor classes. Help ERT with any ongoing projects, provide standby assistance on jobs ERT is required. Assist with emergency response drills and training.

Performed operation duties including JSA’s, LOTO, building EIL’s, writing permits. Operate the unit equipment while following environmental and safety protocols. Stayed up to date on CBT’s, policy changes, MOC’s, and PSSR’s. Helped change procedures when needed to improve accuracy and safety. Units qualified in were HF Alkylation unit and Product Movement unit.

Learned Valero’s process when a injury occurs including the CTEMS standards, treatment protocols, OSHA guidelines to recordables vs non-recordables, ROCIP and gained knowledge of contacts including safety, using the Care onsite telehealth, local ortho clinics, eye doctors, hospitals, drug testing, SOAS and Air Evac. Obtained hands on experience with a variety of injuries and/or exposures specific to the refinery industry. Provided first aid and triage services during the onsite medical emergencies.

Created comprehensive individualized health care plans and managed care for over 40 clients at a time. Job duties included coordination of care with multiple healthcare providers, therapist, and outside agencies to provide the best care for the client. Train and provide supervision of coworkers. Some skills included advanced wound care, picc line, port access, IV therapy, lab collection, foley management, medication management and most importantly provide diagnosis education to improve the client’s quality of life. Received Ardmoreite Nurse of the Year in 2019, SHP Award (best documentation improving revenue), and Angel Wings award ( Going above call of duty).

Worked as RN in psychiatric, Med-Surg, and GI lab. Gained a variety of knowledge to start my nursing career.
