Ethan Burton-Corbell

I am a freshman at the University of Michigan-Dearborn with the credits of a junior due to taking early college courses at Wayne County Community College from my sophomore year in high school to my senior year. I am currently a general business major and plan to switch my major to marketing and possibly a minor in political science. Here is where I learned valuable business traits through the first business classes which included management and marketing. There I learned about SMART goals for the first time, those included specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. Ever since I learned these set of goals, I have tried to use them to make an impact in my life in any way that I could. Other things that have inspired me as I have been walking down my business path included several seminars I attended at WCCCD. Special guests included the lawyer Mike Morse who gave substantial advice, and Victoria Christopher Murray, who was another inspiration due to her amazing communication skills and her advocation of people like me. The education I have received, and these events I have attended have shown me that I have great communication skills, dedication, and adaptability due to the switch from high school to all college courses.
