After high school, I received a full ride scholarship to Carl Sandburg. In year 1, I started every game except one. On this team my role was smaller, however I fulfilled it to my best possible ability every game. We ended the season early with a losing record. In year 2, my role changed drastically. I was now one of our main scorers and the very leader of this team. All year long everyone looked upon me through hardships, and I took the fault for our mistakes. The leadership role was nothing new for me because I led our teams throughout high school and even before that. The difference in the teams from my freshman year to my sophomore year were night and day. We still finished the year early, but with a winning record this time. I enjoyed constantly motivating and leading our team through these battles each and everyday.
