Eve Riskind

As an undergraduate at Cornell University, I study both English Literature and Fashion while staying involved in numerous on-campus organizations. As the Editorial Director of Thread, a university arts and fashion magazine, I have gained invaluable editing experience while also learning how to work one-on-one with writers. I have also expanded my horizons by creating my own magazine, JUNKIES, playing the roles of creative director, editor, graphic designer, and outreach. I am a creative, a leader, and a doer.

JUNKIES, my own creation – a zine inspired by the original Punk magazine focuses on the community and culture of Ithaca, NY. Playing off the original name, JUNKIES works to break down the barriers of outside perception. Through interviews with bands, artist residencies, and personal accounts, JUNKIES gives readers an inside view of the tight-knit community that Ithaca has created. Playing the roles of Creative Director, Editor, Graphic Designer, and Outreach, I gained invaluable experience into the workings of magazine publication.
