Founder & Owner – Artesanías Ulloa
Mexican Handmade Goods Business | Brownsville ,TX Jan 2019 – Present
Launched Artesanías Ulloa, a small business dedicated to selling authentic, handmade Mexican crafts including traditional clothing, purses, jewelry, home décor, and other artisanal pieces. Each item is thoughtfully sourced from skilled artisans in Mexico, showcasing the vibrant artistry, cultural heritage, and craftsmanship of Mexican communities.
Why I started this business:As a proud Mexican-American, I created Artesanías Ulloa to represent both my family and our cultural roots in the Valley. The business was born from a desire to celebrate and preserve traditional Mexican artistry — while also providing others in the community especially students and younger generations — with meaningful access to their heritage. What began as a small idea has evolved into a heartfelt mission: to honor my family's traditions while promoting cultural pride through fashion and design. Beyond cultural impact, this venture has also helped me financially support my education, allowing me to invest in my academic and professional future while staying rooted in my community.
These hours reflect a strong commitment to improving the well-being and cultural pride of the Rio Grande Valley, and have played a meaningful role in shaping my desire to pursue a career in health and community development.
