I am passionate about everything outdoors and learning new things. I have been an outdoor enthusiast since I was a little girl, spending a lot of my time with my Dad on countless adventures learning about nature, hiking and fishing. This in turn sparked my curiosity for learning more which put me on the path of designing and making jewelry from rocks I collected as well as traveling to learn the topography of new areas to find unusual rock specimens to use in my art. Last year I learned to cut, shape and polish rocks and am in the process of learning silversmithing as well.
With the purchase of my first set of skis last winter I fulfilled my lifelong dream of learning to ski! After a cross country ski trip I made the purchase of used downhill and telemark skis. I spent a lot of time learning the ins and outs of the different types of skiing and spent as much time as I could in the snow.
As a painter I left behind 5 wall murals in my high school landing me on the front page of the local paper. This in turn started a new tradition for upcoming art classes to create more murals throughout the high school. Over the years surrounding schools visited my old school inspiring them to also create murals. It was pretty amazing to have my children see my art even though we lived in another town!
