Anticipating an upcoming deluge of independent musicians and the beginnings of CD duplicating, opened a tiny downtown shop devoted only to the "indie" musicians of Austin. Local Flavor became quite renowned. Over six years, grew from 8 recordings, to over 1,000.
Wrote columns for music magazines in America, Canada, and Belgium and was frequently a guest on Austin radio shows.
At the request of record stores in Europe and South America, started an international distribution company.
Local Flavor was the first record store in Texas to sell online.
Won two internet awards in 2000, before closing for family reasons.
