- Train two pharmacy residents annually in capacity as co-preceptor for longitudinal Drug Information rotation, as well as sole preceptor for SICU rotation.
- Train up to four APPE pharmacy students per academic year in capacity as preceptor for SICU rotation if elected.
- Manage drug and supply inventories for the unit by conducting monthly ward inspections, and as-needed audits of the SICU Omnicell.
- Assist with formulary management by reviewing and completing non-formulary medication consults placed for patients in the SICU.
- Liaise with operating room staff on pharmacy's behalf to address their urgent perioperative pharmacotherapy needs.
- Complete focused pharmacotherapy reviews annually (and as-needed) for the surgical ICU staff to maintain currency and awareness of institutional pharmacy practices, as well as educate on new/emerging medication therapies.
- Serve as the Heart Center Pharmacist per the request of the Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Serve as an active member of the Residency Advisory Committee (RAC).
- Serve as an active member of the Pharmacy Professional Standards Board (Pharmacy PSB).
