In the last nine years working with agriculture and being part of research groups, I had the opportunity to follow and develop a lot of research with the main cultivable crops. I feel highly capable of installing, monitoring, collecting data and harvesting experiments with the main crops, such as Soybean, corn, cotton, and sugar cane.
I also have a lot of affinity with statistics and analysis of results because I have always sought to extract the best possible information obtained in our experimental fields.
I've always been curious about new technologies applicable to agriculture, so this made me learn to work with sensors and electronic tools for data collection.
Finally, I am proud to say that I was born in the country, in other words, I am a country boy. This made me love agriculture and made me develop an affinity with agriculture and the practices involved. All this love for the countryside made me focus on college and improve my knowledge in agribusiness and in research.
During master's period, conducted comprehensive study on cover crops, specifically focusing on availability of nutrients released after decomposition of plant residues. To do this, selected oats, radish, and vetch as cover crops and analyzed nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). We collected plant residues at specific intervals of 0, 30, 60, 90, and 120 days after termination, resulting in a total of five collections. Results of our study were intriguing. We found that single crops of radish or vetch exhibited faster decomposition and nutrient release, while oats decomposed more slowly, leading to a more gradual nutrient availability. This led us to the conclusion that an ideal system would involve a combination of two or more cover crops to maintain a balance between decomposition and nutrient availability.
