2. Translator (English to French) of School District Curriculum.
3. Lead interpreter (French to English) to School Administrators and other officials (during staff evaluation as well as other in/out house meetings).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- To coach and mentor staff faculty members to achieve desired results & obtain a teaching certificate.
- To support faculty and staff in the handling of daily responsibilities, and motivate them, with a strong sense of personal responsibility.
- To maintain an inclusive learning environment to enable students to gain maximum benefit from lessons.
- To demonstrate lessons for educators, providing hands-on coaching and actionable feedback.
- To support the development of strategic and tactical planning with valuable tips.
- To provide valuable support and guidance to new teachers and coordinate visits with master teacher classrooms.
- To organize sessions to observe teachers and assist educators with classroom instruction, organization, and classroom management.
- To prepare and implement ongoing systemic staff development in conjunction with the immersion program office based on the assessed needs of immersion educators
- To conduct evaluation and orientation programs.
- To prepare instructional materials for group and one-on-one use to comply with the established curriculum.
- To analyze, discuss, and interpret data ( pre/post assessment results) to instruct instructional decisions.
- To locate materials and online valuable and relevant resources.
- To maintain and monitor the catalog of materials provided by the Immersion Programs Office.
- To document student behaviors, interventions, and outcomes to enable lead teachers to address pertinent issues.
- To monitor student classroom and outdoor activities to promote student safety.
- To log all activities between the mentor and the new teacher including classroom visits, conferences, and support team meetings.
- To guide in monitoring team efforts or workflow to ensure project success.
- To counsel school administrators to coordinate school-based support for all new teachers.
- To model effective collaboration.
- To model the art of working with small groups and individual students in need of special attention, helping to differentiate instruction in the classroom by dividing specific tasks/work between mentors, teachers, and students, each taking primary responsibility for certain content areas.
- To work with groups of students over time splitting up centers to provide more oversight and direction.
- To review assessments and reflect together on the effectiveness of lessons.
- To coordinate a team of translators to ensure consistency in their work.
- To pool relevant resources and brainstorm how to help individual students.
- To observe, ask questions, and offer feedback.
- To provide appropriate learning experiences for students.
- To provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to individuals' intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development and ensure the success of every student (including interaction with and support of students with special needs)
- To supervise students in a variety of school-related settings.
- To communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- To develop, select, and modify instructional materials.
- To create an electronic filing system for source and target texts.
- To coordinate a team of translators to ensure consistency in their work.
- To log, conduct, supervise, monitor, and evaluate a variety of translation projects (ie: designated curriculum translation)
- To adapt and proficiently excel in learning new concepts quickly and efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Representation of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability I exhibit.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in the required language(s) (native French speaker).
