Engage and educate weekly camping groups of elementary school age in marine science activities around the Birch Aquarium, local tide pools, kelp beds and beaches. Organize games, crafts, & educational activities in both the aquarium and outdoor locations. Seasonal position.

Prepared and delivered engaging and organized programs to a diverse range of learners with the goal of connecting them to Everglades National Park. Developed and maintained a thorough understanding of park and the Everglades ecosystem including the natural, cultural, and geologic history, wildlife, and management issues. Tours included van & walking, wet walk through swamp, kayak/canoe. Also worked as needed in tourist shop and information desk. Seasonal position.

Taught campers about animals, habitats, biodiversity, and conservation efforts while exploring zoo and gardens. Lead campers in journaling like a scientist, STEM activities, meeting animal care staff, and unique animal encounters through tours, team building, presentations, games, crafts. Seasonal position.

• Researched and co-authored a paper for government use in South Carolina
• The paper outlined the future steps for the SC Biomass /council to work with Coastal students at paid capacity at protecting the trees along the highways of South Carolina

• Participated in local community outreach to educated adults and children about solar energy
• Spoke with Georgetown, SC City Council on feasibility of changing solar ordinances and implementing new legislation to promote a more inclusive solar plan
• Presented solar proposal to Brookgreen Gardens and wrote a proposal for a future non-profit to receive solar through the Solar Ambassador Program

• Duties included maintenance in Turtle Hatchery, evacuation of turtle nests, recording of hatchery data, participant in a biological study on how the temperature of the sand determines the gender of the turtles, night patrol of beaches to assist turtles when laying eggs, to count eggs and document location of nests, and to ward off poachers
