Expert individual and group counselor with 20+ years of practical experience in a variety of environments and capacities in the areas of Mental Health, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, and Sexual Assault/Abuse. Culturally competent and responsive, understands diversity between and across cultures and provides an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment where all youth and young adults identify supports, and families can take pride in their cultural identities, beliefs, and practices. Develops and implements policies and procedures for management and clinical aspects of the program. Works with internal and external placement staff to ensure that the needs of youth and families in the Programs are adequately met. Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT). Ensures that the integrity of the appropriate treatment model is maintained throughout the assigned programs. Negotiates and maintains relationship with program consultants as required. Established and maintain working relationships with social service, mental health, education, judicial, managed care, professional staff, and community entities which meet the needs of young adults, youth, and families. Recruits, hire, terminates and evaluates staff for all programs assigned interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, and rewarding and disciplining employees. Address complaints and resolving problems and supervising the clinical supervisors to ensure that the integrity of the treatment model is maintained in all clinical cases; the staff is trained, motivated and productive; customers are satisfied; referrals are handled appropriately; and other duties. Sees that the program remains financially sound by participating in the marketing of the program when appropriate, by managing caseloads and by keeping expenditures within the budget. On-call 24/7 based on the program's on-call schedule. Provides crisis intervention as needed. Provides clinical direction to clinical supervisors, counselors, and specialists based on the treatment model which includes weekly management of the group supervision process by direct case review, oversees the treatment planning process, case management and case progress. Attends consultation and follows up on recommendations. Arranges and participates in psychiatric and psychological consultations. Arranges necessary case conferences involving parents, state workers, and other treatment providers to deal with specific needs of families and youth. Coordinates wraparound services as identified. Empowers the family to develop and utilize a social support network, including family, friends, and community services. Evaluate the health, educational, and emotional requirements of children entering foster care to ensure appropriate placement and support services. Facilitate placement in suitable foster homes, considering the child’s needs, cultural background, and the foster family’s capabilities. Provide guidance and resources to foster families, monitor the child’s safety and progress through home visits, school coordination, and healthcare follow-ups. Prepare court reports, attend hearings, testify, supervise family visits, and ensure compliance with child welfare policies and laws.
