Work History

Leadership Coach and Mentor

Pacific Northwest Church Of God
06.2022 - Current
  • Trained, equipped, and released into ministry 26 couples during 54 years of ministry. After retiring from pastoral work launched MAXIMUM a coaching and mentoring ministry for pastors and their leadership teams.
  • 10 Pastoral couples and their leadership teams have attended workshops and seminars on various leadership topics for enhancing their skills in developing life-giving ministry that overcomes stagnation and changes the trajectory of a declining ministry.
  • Through personal meetings with each pastoral couple on a monthly basis, client's performance is evaluated against established benchmarks, ministry systems and strategies are adjusted as needed to achieve desired outcomes. Encouragement, affirmation, and counsel is provided for their personal walk and emotional wellbeing.
  • Seek to promote a culture of self-reflection, continuous improvement, and a commitment to excellence. The clients are encouraged to seek out feedback and embrace opportunities for growth.
  • Stay informed about new developments in leadership theory, coaching methodologies, and Pacific Northwest culture to ensure the coaching/mentoring ministry is remaining relevant and applicable in the ever-changing context of the secular, pagan, hyper-sexualized culture of this region.

reading biographies and history; golf; fishing

  • I love reading biographies and studying United States and world history. Some of my favorite biographies are Martin Luther (Metaxas), Bonhoeffer (Metaxas), Churchill (Gilbert), Billy Graham (Martin), and Benjamin Franklin (Isaacson). Authors I have greatly enjoyed for U.S. and world history are Peter Marshall and David Manual, William Bradford, Benjamin Netanyahu, Winston Churchill, William Manchester.
  • My father-in-law taught me trout fishing on rivers and streams of Montana. I still enjoy a beautiful day on the river fishing for rainbows and browns or small mouth bass.
  • I began golfing in 1972, while planting a church in Bramalea, Ontario, Canada. I am not a great golfer (my best handicap has only been 18), but I love the joy of a sunny day, a good drive, or a short iron shot, and the sound of a long putt going in the cup.
