Analyze clinical documentation for medical necessity and appropriate CPT and DX code selection. Assign specific codes to medical records, sequencing and determining codes to accurately reflect the resources and procedures used in the care of patients. Analyzed reports for accuracy on patient information, recorded date of service or procedure and verified location and physician name and signature.

Conducted billing and coding training for physician and medical staff which included current procedural or coding updates.

Consulted with physicians on documentation that was incomplete, inaccurate or required further diagnosis specification.

Provided Anesthesiology coding for several different locations and all specialties, including BJC and St. Louis Children's Hospital. Performed charge entry as well as correcting insurance edits and appeals.
