Research:

Undergraduate Researcher- Hilinski Lab (2018-2020)

  • I studied the efficacy of different nitrene precursors on the C-H activation of organic substrates using an organocatalyst ("Hilinski catalyst") that was designed by the Hilinski Lab.

Research Specialist- Virginia Institute of Marine Science (Summer 2021-Spring 2022)

  • I helped study the concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Chesapeake Bay waterways using a piece of technology designed for the lab called a Biosensor. I also started a separate project to design the synthesis of a derivative of a new class of concerning chemical substances known as polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the hopes we could be one of the first to yield monoclonal antibodies against them.
