FRANCES PANIAGUA, MSN, RN

• Provides supervision and leadership to the patient care units. Specific functions include: collaborates and supports manager with staff evaluations, patient flow, staff and family education, serves as patient/guest service ambassador and assists with problem solving on tour of duty. Additionally, coordinates staffing and nursing assignments for current and oncoming shift. Participates in hourly rounding and ensures compliance of same. Ensures that services are provided within the philosophy and objectives as well as the policies and procedures of the hospital and Baptist Health South Florida.

• Emergency Department/ICU-Charge RN/ Resource RN/Trauma RN/ Staff RN

· Assist in managing an eighty bed emergency department divided into 5 teams. Facilitate communication between RNs, Physicians, Patient/family members and other members of the healthcare team.

· Serve as a resource in expediting proper diagnostic testing, patient transport to aid in the fluidity within the department and assist nurses in providing the highest level of patient safety/care.

· Work in the critical care area of the ED called Trauma, frequently cared for ICU patients in our ED Overflow area.

· ICU - crossed trained in ICU department to care for ICU patients during the COVID pandemic which consists of stabilizing and managing critically ill patients i.e. stroke patients, cardiac arrest, STEMI, sepsis, intubated patients, etc. Administering, monitoring, and managing drips and various medications. Also caring for overflow ICU patients that are held within the department. Ventilator care, hemodynamic monitoring, intravenous pacing, ventriculostomy, cardioversion, chest tube insertion/monitoring.

· Code Blue/ Rapid Response team leader

• Performs clerical duties, order and data entry utilizing multiple computer systems. Effectively communicate and facilitate all departmental orders and results to ED staff. Serves as front-line departmental ambassador in customer service. Maintain a professional demeanor with internal and external personnel. Work in conjunction with the ED team in order to expedite patient care and throughput and provide excellent quality care in a family oriented hospital setting.
