I have been employed in Public Education for 50 calendar years from 1970 to 2020. I have been a successful teacher, school administrator and district office staff professional during that time. For a change of pace, I left education in 1985 and worked for the nation's largest commercial printing company for a year before returning to education. In addition, I painted houses in summers, weekends and nights for almost 20 years during this tenure.
During my career as an educator, I had many opportunities to work closely with superintendents/other district and school level administrators, school board members, teachers, classified employees, parents, school site-based councils, community/business leaders, as well as college and university officials. It is through this work that I was able to develop an exceptional grasp of school issues and was often called upon for advice and action related to various topics. I became a recognized expert in my field. I was often called upon by superintendents to chair or lead special projects such as changes to board policy and procedure or conducting investigations into wrongdoing by employees and developing options for dealing with the results.
My references will say that I was a consummate professional educator who was always willing to help in any instance. They will say that my efforts were always above and beyond the call of duty. I stand firmly on my impeccable record. But that record has ended and I face new challenges in my retirement life. I want to be busy, am a quick learner an have always been known for attention to detail and keeping school districts out of trouble. I look forward to sharing more and answering prospective employer questions as to how my experiences can transition to positions in private business. Thank you for the opportunity!
