I graduated from The Leys boarding school in the UK, earning my national A-level exams in June 2020. Following graduation, I moved to the United States to join my join my blended family (UK dad/ US step-mom), taking a gap year to review my college choices while working as a nanny for a year. In June ’21, after much research and contemplation, the United States Military Academy was the school I was most interested in, however there was a barrier to apply- I was not a US citizen. This barrier led me to enlist in the US Army to gain both my citizenship and, hopefully lead me to West Point.”After enlisting, I discovered I loved the work and didn’t want to rush to West Point, instead completing my three-year enlistment. I am now a US citizen, Sergeant in the Army, and have simultaneously completed two semesters at Troy University. I am now ready to put academics first again and attend university - a school that offers the academics and ethos I value.
