Research Project: Human Reaction Time in Correcting Autonomous Vehicle Errors: A Systems Engineering Perspective, This study analyzed human reaction times in level 2 and 3 autonomous vehicles (AVs) under different distraction scenarios, such as reading or playing a mobile game. Data from 30 participants showed significantly slower reaction times during distracted tasks. Statistical analysis confirmed the impact of secondary tasks on human ability to override AV errors. These findings suggest that AV designs should enhance alert systems to improve human-vehicle interaction and ensure safety.
