Activities

Girl Scouts

I have been a member of Girl Scouts since elementary school, and I have completed both the Bronze and Silver Awards. Through Girl Scouts, I have learned many new skills such as first aid, camping survival skills, cooking, learning about different countries and cultures, and more. Additionally, I have reached out and helped serve the community by volunteering for different organizations and food banks.

Marching Band

I have been a member of the PCEP Marching Band for four years. I joined freshmen year during Covid and played the clarinet. After the first year, I switched and joined the Color Guard. Through this program I have learned many new values, including the importance of working as a team. Over the summer we have many instances where we rehearse for 8 hours, 5 days a week. These camps help us put in the time needed to be our very best, and has made me become passionate and proud of the program. In the fall, we have many competitions, and in the end we compete in Grand Nationals in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Winter Guard

In the Winter after the Marching Band season, the Guard performs its own show separate from the band indoors. Practices being shortly after Marching Bands ends and concludes with World Competitions in April in Dayton, Ohio. Being in Color Guard year round is putting in many long hours, to achieve our very best.

Guard Captain and Leadership Team

In Both Marching Band and Winter Guard, I am Head Captain for the Guard. Me and my other two co-captains help lead the group of about 30 members throughout the season and are a link of communication between the staff and the guard members.  Being in this position has allowed me to learn new leadership skills and become more comfortable in public speaking to a group. It has also allowed me to become a mentor to younger members and helped me improve my communication skills.

I have also been part of the leadership team for my junior and senior year in the fall for the Marching Band season.  During leadership meetings, we discuss with the head director of the program, the importance of values such as excellence and standards, and how to make the program the very best it can be.

National Honor Society

I am currently a member of NHS. Being in this program has allowed me more opportunities to volunteer and give back to the community with my school peers.  I have enjoyed the various events NHS provides for unique service opportunities.

Key Club

Since NHS is only offered for junior and senior year, I joined Key Club for my freshmen and sophomore years. It's similar to NHS, as it is a volunteer and community service based club. Some service activities I participated in included Salvation Army bell ringing, writing cards for kids in need, and packaging meals for various food banks.
