• Taught preschool students with visual impairment and other special needs

• Tutored elementary students in reading and math.

Worked in several recreation programs under umbrella of program called SHARP (Sports, Habilitation, Arts and Recreation Program) where we did different recreational activities with students between ages of 5 and 21. The main function of this program is to facilitate fun for students but it also entails maintaining their safety, helping them with social skills, and guiding them towards independence.

• I was a teacher's assistant in a Pre-K-2nd grade environment.
• Assisted students with basic skills such as eating, going to the bathroom, and playing responsibly.
• Was in a position to help students gain independence in basic functions while also maintaining their safety.
• Helped students learn math, reading, and writing. Finally, I helped students with social skills and also assisted them with stretching and exercising to the best of my ability.

• Served as house parent for high school age students with blindness/visual impairments while they got experience of working and living in apartment setting for approximately 5 weeks
• Primarily served as weekend house parent and was there to enforce house rules, and drove the students around as they ran errands and sought entertainment during the weekends
• Also served as an unofficial counselor for the students as they dealt with different social and emotional problems during the program.

• Assisted clients with daily living needs to maintain self-esteem and general wellness.
• Assisted with dressing guidance, grooming, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
