I moved here from Colorado when I was 15. My first job was washing dishes at Holiday Inn (now Viking Lounge). Cleared tables and served chips, salsa and water to customers for Estebans restaurant. I was a host at the Smiling Moose. I was a cook at Michaels Restaurant then moved over to Poppa George's kitchen and cooked there. Cooked for a while at McMurphys then went to Shopko. I started on the sales floor there and worked my way up to the service desk, then the front end supervisor to apparel assistant manager. Then an opening for an optician opened up and I did that for 25-30 years. That job was the most fun, brain using, customer and patient professional job, working with doctors and different optical centers from all around the country.
We also worked closely with insurance companies to help figure out why a claim was either being paid or why it was denied
