Throughout my life, I have had many experiences that have shaped me into a versatile worker who would be great for a wide variety of employers.
I have done work for various charitable organizations and nonprofits, leading me into a mindset not just for financial gain, but for the well-being of others. While I have little formal work experience (working for larger companies or formal paid jobs), I have all of the tools I need to build myself into a powerful and useful worker.
I also have experience in terms of construction and labor tasks. I have helped remodel, build, and demolish homes. I know how to paint, pour concrete, build decks, sand/stain wood, roof houses, insulate, etc. Landscaping is a task I must undertake in my household every spring and summer, while in the winter, I am responsible for blowing the snow out of my driveway and sometimes my neighborhood.
In my work as a camp counselor, I have had to learn leadership skills, accountability, and cooperation with supervisors and fellow staff. Patience and self-control are also valuable traits I have acquired in this job. Whether it was fights between kids or a spilled craft, I was always ready to help solve whatever problem that seemed to be presenting itself.
Creativity is something that I value most in my personal life. As a musician, I am able to enter a headspace in which I find solutions to problems that may not have been evident before. Many workers are trapped in patterns of complacency, whereas I tend to take more unique approaches on tasks. I hope to use my creativity to problem-solve more efficiently and encourage others to do the same.
