Summary

My experience in the restaurant industry has given me a strong sense of work ethic and accuracy. I have been at 3rd and Ferry since I was 15, and continue to be a valuable employee. I have been a musician since I was a young child, but I first started seriously studying music when I was 9. I learned piano first, then transitioned to guitar lessons. I took about a year's worth of lessons on guitar, then began teaching myself. I have now been playing for about 8 years, and recently restarted piano lessons. I also have experience with children, as I've been an older brother since I was 7. I've also been paid to babysit on a regular basis, and the kids had a lot of fun with me. Through that experience and my time at a restaurant, I have learned to stay patient and cool-headed in less than ideal situations.

Music

  • I've been playing guitar since I was 10 years old. I mostly like to learn songs by rock/heavy metal artists, but my musical taste branches out much beyond that. I also have been self-taught in bass guitar since I was 12, and have grown to a proficient level on that instrument as well as the six-string.
  • I played drum set in the Moravian All-Star Band in my senior year of high school, which was an invite-only group. I specialized in percussion throughout my grade school career and played in the marching band for five years.
  • I spent 2 years in my high school's drama program, and played guitar on stage accompanied by the pit orchestra in Pippin. The song I played was called Simple Joys.
  • I have been taking weekly vocal lessons since my senior year, and I was in county and district chorus that same year.
  • I played three shows with Start Making Sense at the Funhouse in Bethlehem, the World Music Cafe in Philadelphia, and the Mercury Lounge in New York City. It was a special one-off event where we covered the album Jesus Hits Like the Atom Bomb by Tripping Daisy. I played lead guitar for almost all of the setlist. I used various effects and incorporated slide guitar into the songs. A full video of the NYC performance can be found on the Start Making Sense YouTube channel.
