Accomplishments

Middle Grades Literature Author

  • Authored, edited and published, Cool Breeze and Double Dutch, both urban fiction tales. Cool Breeze and Double Dutch are self-published and have sold over 1,000 copies during their first month. Both works have increased reading engagement among all students, especially minorities. Cool Breeze and Double Dutch are distributed and sold in major book outlets such as Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million, and Amazon.com.

Traveling Instructional Coach

  • Conducted training for schools in Virginia, Georgia and North Carolina with teachers on engaging and empowering young writers. Moved the Young Authors' Club into its 17th year.

2024 NCDPI Curriculum Launch

  • Assisted in the launch of the 2024 North Carolina NC CTE Curriculum. Edited the final stage of the curriculum writing process in the summer of 2023 to meet the 2024 deadline.
