My name is Gavin Firch, and I am an engineering student at Iowa State University with an interest in electrical engineering and hands-on problem-solving. APEX (Aspiring Professional Experience), Engineering Project Manager

• Collaboration with Can Play, a company specializing in adaptive sports equipment
• Led a team to redesign an adaptive bowling game for individuals with physical limitations
• Worked directly with professionals to understand user needs and functional requirements
• Tested multiple concepts and guided the team through the design process
• Developed a hinge-based Velcro mat that kept pins contained and easy to reset
• Gained experience in leadership, problem-solving, project planning, and real-world engineering practices

• Boy Scouts of America, Eagle Scout: Involved since 1st grade through Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, Completed long-term service and leadership requirements to earn Eagle Scout, Planned and led community service projects and team-based activities
