Gene Grant

Peoria,AZ

Summary

  • Joined the carpenters union out of High School. Did the apprenticeship program, got my journeyman card. Worked a lot of Heavy Highway, some comercial construction. In 2008 work slowed, I went in to business for my self, it was feast or famine, decided to learn to weld, and maybe head to the Belkin oil fields. Did my first winter in Montana, decided it wasn't for me. Got a few intro welding/ construction jobs with a temp agency, met a guy who was an operator in solar fields, applied for an operator job at Mesquite solar field, and was hired. On my first day at orientation, was asked if I would be interested in a job in the Quality department. Took a chance, worked for a couple great mentors, and been on the road doing solar every since.
