In this job I provide dog sitting to individuals on the Front Porch Forum website. These individuals ask for people to watch and care for their house and animals while they’re away. During this job I often provide maintenance of people’s houses by cleaning and taking care of their pet’s needs. For instance, I have an upcoming house sitting job in which I will be cleaning and feeding five different animals in the course of two weeks. These jobs are all different depending on the person, although generally the same objective applies to all of them. What may be different is what type of animal I watch as well as how much cleaning I will need to be doing.
Direct Support Professional
Howard Center
01.2023 - 01.2024
During my time as a direct support professional, I would assist individuals with disabilities in all aspects of their life. From assisting with budgeting to tutoring clients for college exams, I helped in whatever way was needed. This job required having patients, assisting with conflicts and learning to communicate in delicate conversations. Many clients suffered from a variety of mental health issues to physical complications, further limiting their ability to communicate effectively; leading me to learn the strategies to effective communication.
Tutor
Lyndon State College
01.2016 - 05.2017
In this job I would provide my knowledge in certain areas to students depending on what they needed. For instance, I tutored a small group of students on alternating days who needed help in different subjects. These subjects would range from extensive math problems to simple questions regarding the navigation through college. During the session, I would often provide studying tools for students and provide mentoring to them in order for them to succeed in their classes. I would track their progress through the course of a semester to make sure they were progressing fluently, without hesitation and with more confidence that they could excel in their class work. This job helped me develop communication skills as well as problem solving as I had to broaden my knowledge in many areas.

Volunteer Experience
I’ve volunteered at my local community hospital for three years straight during the summer time and was involved with their medical volunteer program. In this program I’ve learned valuable medical experience and insight into the future career I’m currently pursuing.
