  • Ozcan Research Group (HHMI/NSF Undergraduate Research Program), Undergraduate Researcher: Contributed to the development of a deep learning-enhanced, paper-based vertical flow assay for high-sensitivity troponin detection using nanoparticle amplification; collaborated on peer-reviewed publication in ACS Nano. Prepared experiments, optimized assay performance, and tested clinical samples, gaining exposure to translational research and lab-to-clinic diagnostics. Refined diagnostic sensor systems through hands-on testing and cross-functional teamwork within a multidisciplinary research team. Designed and conducted an independent research project to improve diagnostic assay formats; analyzed data and communicated findings to faculty mentors.
