Peace Keeping Circle Trainer and Facilitator

2010- present: Train and facilitate Peace Keeping Circles by guiding participants through a democratic process of communication that helps them to resolve conflict, transform and cultivate empathy, address trauma and harm and support healing and restoration.

Experience:

  • Effective problem-solving by providing participants with a safe space to address their issues and guiding them through mutual understanding of opposing viewpoints.
  • Coordinated training with Wake County Public School, Campbell Restorative Justice Center and Kaye Pranis, National circle keepers for 60 community based participants
  • Facilitated Hypocrisy in Culture of Organization and Internalized Race Oppression workshop to 200 participants in effort to address ineffective service provision in Health and Human Service programs and other nonprofit and service providing organizations.

  • Provided two workshop trainings to 162 participants from Health and Human Services, NC State University ,Alliance Mental Health employees, 4-H, POE Health Education Center, large and small nonprofits in effort to raise awareness about Hypocrisy in the Culture of Organizations brings about negative community perception, training addressed ways to change organizational culture and explained the ineffective services as result; work shop evaluation received 100% approval rating with 96% giving outstanding evaluation ratings.

Internalized Racial Oppression

  • 72 people attended the workshop, which addressed isms within the race that maintain systems of oppression. Workshop received 100% approval rating of outstanding.
