2010- present: Train and facilitate Peace Keeping Circles by guiding participants through a democratic process of communication that helps them to resolve conflict, transform and cultivate empathy, address trauma and harm and support healing and restoration.

Experience:

• Effective problem-solving by providing participants with a safe space to address their issues and guiding them through mutual understanding of opposing viewpoints.
• Coordinated training with Wake County Public School, Campbell Restorative Justice Center and Kaye Pranis, National circle keepers for 60 community based participants
• Facilitated Hypocrisy in Culture of Organization and Internalized Race Oppression workshop to 200 participants in effort to address ineffective service provision in Health and Human Service programs and other nonprofit and service providing organizations.

Hypocrisy in the Culture of Organizations

• Provided two workshop trainings to 162 participants from Health and Human Services, NC State University ,Alliance Mental Health employees, 4-H, POE Health Education Center, large and small nonprofits in effort to raise awareness about Hypocrisy in the Culture of Organizations brings about negative community perception, training addressed ways to change organizational culture and explained the ineffective services as result; work shop evaluation received 100% approval rating with 96% giving outstanding evaluation ratings.

Internalized Racial Oppression

• 72 people attended the workshop, which addressed isms within the race that maintain systems of oppression. Workshop received 100% approval rating of outstanding.

• Listened to complaints from parents of public school students
• Acted as mediator between school and parent to assure clear c understanding, positive communication and foster positive working relationship in effort to support student's learning
• Assisted in scheduling meeting with administrators to resolve complaint/conflict and build working relationship
• Ensure students got resources needed to to support their learning
• Assisted parents in navigating educational processes to resolve educational or discipline issues
• Sought guidance from Board representatives when met with resistance at school level and complaint involved violation of policy
• Worked with attorneys when issues could not be resolved and was in violation of state and federal policy
• Supported parent with community resources such as legal, mental health, to help them address routine or complex problems
• Improved overall administration and parent relationship by promptly addressing concerns and issues with proper solutions

• Taught more than 5000 parents to navigate educational processes through helping them to understand school culture and policy, education law and parent roles and responsibilities
• 2001 Fair Testing Act was written by parents who advocated to get it passed through legislature in effort to stop districts from retaining students for simply not passing End of Grade and End of Course tests, without remediation,but consider portfolios of their work

• Spearheaded new program initiatives to address unmet community needs of low-income vulnerable and marginalized children and families
• Advanced organization's mission to interrupt Home/School/Prison Cycle
• Advocated for policy changes at both local and national levels to further support organizational goals and objectives.
• Oversaw financial management, ensuring fiscal responsibility and long-term sustainability for organization.
• Established and maintained strong relationships with community and built a volunteer base of 300 community resources and strategic partners
• Built relationships with donors, government officials and other organizations to secure funding and support for organization.
• Championed diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within organization and community to create more inclusive learning environments for children.

• Organized Wake Collaborative to Stop Bullying and Youth Violence addressing bulling through arts
• Developed and implemented MLK Content of Character anti bullying and Youth Violence Initiative in 1 school and four after school programs
• Served more than 400 students
• All entities served reported significant decrease in behavior problems and bullying
• 50 awards presented to students for adequate repetition of lessons learned show cased through arts
• More that 150 students in attendance for October Anti-Bullying month

• Organized and led workshops that effectively raised awareness around School to Prison Pipeline in grassroots organizations and HBCUs.
• Mobilized advocates to fight for Trauma Informed sensitivity training for resource officers in public schools
• Mobilized advocates to assist parents with complaints around disproportionate suspensions of black and brown males
• Mobilized advocates to work with statewide advocacy organizations to file federal complains against district for application of discriminatory discipline
• Partnered with NC Child, statewide Think Tank, to influence policy around "Raise the Age" policy with successful passage

• Bridged gaps between schools and homes connecting hard to reach parents successfully serving four school in Wake County
• Helped parents support their children's education by assisting them with activities that increased their academic performance
• Involved in efforts in creating welcoming school environments .
• Facilitated family meetings to ensure communication and collaboration between schools, parents and students
