As a current Construction Inspector at the Bureau of Construction:

• I inspect and record diaries, quantities of items, and traffic controls for roadway construction projects in the City of Chicago
• I ensure that field operations are performed in compliance with State Regulations and Department Safety Policies
• For quality assurance, I perform testings & samplings of materials on the field then I deliver the samples to laboratory
• I ensure items are constructed according to plans, specifications and applicable manuals
• I collaborate with Contractors, Consultants, Resident Engineer and Staff to accomplish scopes of work for projects/contracts
• I submit reports and documents of inspections, materials and traffic controls to the Resident Engineer
• I train Interns and Entry-Level Engineers, providing them with guidance on best practices and techniques
• I also perform other tasks assigned to me by the Resident Engineer

As a former Engineer at the Bureau of Programming:

• I utilized CAD to design preliminary plans, profiles, typical sections, cross sections, and exhibits of roadways for projects
• I successfully completed project reports, crash analyses, cost estimates, and transportation management plans for projects
• I emailed various letters to Municipalities, Townships, Counties and IDOT Bureaus regarding upcoming construction projects
• I scanned microfilms of old construction plans for useful information to be incorporated in new plans
• I also completed other tasks assigned to me by my Manager

As a former Bridge Inspector at the Bureau of Maintenance:

• I performed inspections of small bridges/culverts, load postings, and closure reviews for several State & Local Structures
• I assisted Team Leaders during inspections of main bridges
• I submitted inspection reports and cross sections of bridges to my Manager for approvals
• I also performed other tasks assigned to me by my Manager
