Gilberto Ruiz

Hello, my name is Gilberto Ruiz, currently I am a 21-year-old, first generation nursing student in progress to obtain my Bachelor's in Science of Nursing to achieve my dream in becoming a Registered Nurse. My graduation date is in October of 2025 and I am a full time student. I am currently employed at Del Taco where I moved up in positions of Management since 2020. I would consider this proof of commitment and determination as I try and improve and exceed in anything I am associated with. In doing so, I also understand how important it is to work in a team and to ensure efficiency is maintained while tasks are being performed. As a manager, I've learned a lot of what it means to deal with people in "de-escalative" matters in order to resolve problems and ensure everyone learns and leaves happy. I try my best to set an example for those who follow me and for those who I am supervising when it comes to work. As I progress in my nursing program, not only will I develop more skills associated with healthcare, but I will also be learning and gaining more experience for when the time comes of licensure to become a registered nurse. The main reason I am deciding to leave my current employment at Del Taco is to move on to a job that will prepare me and get me experience for what it's actually like to be a nurse. Everything I do in my life is targeted in ways that will benefit me in the future and make me the best version of myself to succeed.

I maintain a healthy attitude and lifestyle by staying active and going to the gym at least 5 days a week. I consider this activity a mental break from  school and work in order to maintain a healthy mental state.
