Summary

Besides working at five guys and learning how to have a day to day job I learned how to expect different scenarios that comes with a job like a rush and how fast you need to be to get orders out. Also you have to be clean and clean your equipment and clean the lobby clean for people to enjoy your store.

I went to a career center for two years of my high school which was the Delaware Area Career Center with my instructor taught me a lot of things to expect in the automotive industry if I wanted to make a career out of it. He was proud of what I did he told me that I was outgoing and that I was able to learn and put in the work. I passed my class with and A and was a student with the most growth out of some of my peers. Then in the summer of 2024 I went into a program called Lead The Way which help my find the performance automotive program with Alvin Meek and Dave Hartman where they helped me to learn how to be specific about tools and how to use materials and with the help of current people who were working at Toyota drive direct it help me to understand how the automotive industry works. I was the top of the class and was awarded the automotive award for giving interest and proof that I’m willing to put In the work no matter what job it is and when there is stuff that I don’t understand I will ask questions to climb over my challenges. I want to go to the automotive industry because I’m hungry for more and I don’t want to be comfortable and wait for something to come to me what I want is a challenge to the point I fail but wants to keep going.

As a crew member at five guys you have to know how to work a little bit of everything in each station. So we have the cashier, dress and bread grill, the grill, fries and bagging plus the milkshake machine. We as a team have to keep our station clean and keep our lobby clean so then our customers can keep coming. It’s better for everyone to know every station because if someone doesn’t know how to do something then we are going to have a hurdle to jump and during a rush it’s will be bad. Basically the key thing is to multitask and do thing before your told or when your told so the day can go smoothly.
