As a correctional officer I maintain order and security within the facility. I supervise inmates to prevent disturbances and ensure compliance with the rules. The role requires constant vigilance and quick decision-making. I conduct regular inspections and searches to maintain safety. I also often mediate conflicts among inmates to prevent violence. My Communication skills are essential for interacting with both inmates and staff. As an officer I also document incidents and prepare reports. My Physical fitness is important due to the demanding nature of the job. I work in shifts, often under stressful and challenging conditions. Overall, the experience involves balancing authority with fairness to maintain a secure environment.
